QUEZON CITY — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the World Bank (WB) recently convened for the 8th Implementation Support Mission (ISM) of the Beneficiary Fast, Innovative, Responsive, Service Transformation (BFIRST) project, placing a significant spotlight on the digital rollout of i-Registro.

Held from November 21–22, 2024, at The Oracle Hotel and Residence, the mission was led by DSWD Undersecretary for Policy and Plans Adonis Sulit and Assistant Secretary Marites Maristela. A focal point of the technical discussions was the i-Registro platform, a web-based, self-service portal designed specifically for 4Ps beneficiaries.

The platform was showcased as a major milestone in the BFIRST project’s goal to modernize social protection. By allowing pregnant women and parents of children aged 0–24 months to submit their First 1,000 Days (F1KD) updates online, i-Registro eliminates the need for physical travel and manual paperwork. This digital shift ensures that the Pantawid Pamilya Information System (PPIS) is updated in real-time, facilitating the faster delivery of critical health grants.

The mission, which included partners from the ADB, UNCDF, and DFAT, concluded that i-Registro is a benchmark for making DSWD services more adaptive and responsive to the needs of the most vulnerable Filipino households. #
